![]() I've done a fair bit of DisplayPort troubleshooting in the past, and whenever I saw monitor flickering it was typically caused by using a DP cable that was too long, a cheaply made cable or an issue that was resolved with a driver update, a BIOS update or a firmware update for the monitor. I know isn't exactly the place you'll find people running a 4K monitor via integrated graphics, but have any of you either used a setup like this, or know of anyone who does? My concern is that a search of the Intel forums shows users complaining about screen flickering when driving a 4K 60Hz monitor via the HD 530. While the board claims to support HDMI 2.0, the I7 6700 that will be used in the build does not support HDMI 2.0 as far as I can tell. However, I've talked her out of it seeing as the HD 530 can drive 4K Hz over DP 1.2, which both the monitor and motherboard that will be used in the build support. ![]() So much so that she wanted a dedicated GPU in the machine. She is adamant that only the best components be used in the build. ![]() She plans on purchasing a Dell P2715Q 4K monitor as well. I have a client who wants me to build her a top-of-the-line PC to replace her aging X58-based machine. ![]()
